The Michelin Latitude Sport tires developed for the high-end performance requirements of crossovers and sports utility vehicles. Being summer tires, they can be deployed or usage in all conditions except freezing and snowy ones.
The Michelin Latitude Sport are manufactured from a silica and carbon based tread compound which extends from the outboard shoulder to the tread for increased road grip under dry conditions. The silica rich compound extends to the inboard shoulder for increasing grip under wet conditions. The wet traction is further augmented with the lateral notches and wide circumferential grooves that drain water to prevent aquaplaning. To endure the stress of extreme performance which risks changes to shape and structural integrity, the internal structure of the tires is reinforced with twin steel belts and nylon filaments.
